IKIRE by Sulayman Olusina Nafiu

IKIRE

Mainstream, mettle's Monument,
Lakes leaks their leaping loins,
At the villages' outskirts edges.
When wind whirls, forest shields.

Ikire
Hunters' lea and the 'hunteds'
The life-time inn of the oracles.
Flirty fly flies like floating foam,
Around local lamp at night marts.
Dòdò thee all we hale at dinners!

Ikire
The limbo, Palm nuts' meadow,
Found at all the cardinal points.
The ranch of the rich merchants.
Ikire, the city of warriors' tomb,
Sun's sconce and petals's stem.

Dòdò- banana-made cake
